Oxfordian Life
A Year of Service with the Love Foundation
The Love Foundation is the channel through which Oxfordian students and families do community work, and across the 2024-2025 school year it ran a great deal of it. Set out plainly, this is what the year came to:
- Food donated to community kitchens
- School supplies donated to federal schools and to Centros de Asistencia Infantil Comunitaria
- School furniture donated to public schools
- Visits to the local care home for older people
- Personal hygiene items and school supplies donated to migrants
- Food collected for the Banco de Alimentos through our Hambretón project
- Sports equipment donated to public schools
- Pet food donated to a number of animal charities
- Toys and winter clothing donated to vulnerable communities through Abrigatón and Juguetón
- Visits and donations to children’s shelters
- Reading promoted through our community library
Read as a list it looks like logistics. In practice it is a year of students discovering that the gap between wanting to help and actually helping is mostly just showing up, carrying something heavy, and coming back the next month.
None of it happens without families saying yes, repeatedly, across a whole year. Thank you for the support given through 2024-2025. It reached a great many people who needed it.
