Oxfordian Life
Two Reading Marathons
Secondary students held the school’s first reading marathon, timed to the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Women. It was built as a space to think about the culture, the history and the voice of indigenous women, and to make the case for reading as a tool for both learning and social awareness rather than as an assignment.
At the other end of the school, kindergarten students at Campus Vista Hermosa took part in the reading marathon organised by the SEP, where Ms. Arellano and Ms. Naranjo read aloud with enough theatrical commitment to hold a room full of five-year-olds completely still.
Thank you to everyone who took part, at both ends of the age range, and to the teachers who make reading look like the good time it is.
