Oxford Creates Partnership With the Municipality

With the aim of putting a quality education within reach of more families, an agreement was signed giving employees of the Reynosa city government the opportunity to join our scholarship programme, which more than 400 families already benefit from.

For the signing of the document, the mayor Carlos Peña Ortiz, the municipal Sedesol secretary Hidilberta Velázquez Mendoza, and the councillor Nancy Ríos Rivera gathered at Petrolera Campus.

The mayor also took a tour of the facilities, during which he was able to spend time with the students who received him in their classrooms and talked with him excitedly.

There was also an opportunity to meet with the directors Timothy J. Ryder and Vivian Contreras to discuss the expansion Oxford has undergone since its founding 20 years ago.

For their part, the representatives of the admissions department, Edgar Cortez, Ana Laura Cantú and Sandy González, emphasised the special benefits agreed for Reynosa government employees, which also include scholarships for Oxford Language School at very accessible rates, as Nora Ruiz, OLS coordinator, explained during the meeting.

The school maintains agreements with more than 300 companies, whose employees enjoy substantial benefits when enrolling their children at any of the 5 campuses that make up the Oxford system.

In this way we strengthen our social commitment by creating partnerships with companies and institutions to improve educational conditions in the community.
