Oxfordian Life
Twenty-One Years in Reynosa Now

The 21st anniversary ceremony carried a special significance, as it was the first year to be celebrated under the name The Oxfordian School.
In the presence of María Fernanda Ayala, founding director, Timothy Ryder, director, and Patricia García, Desiree Arellano, Vivian Contreras, Cynthia Martínez and Rita Corpus, directors of the five campuses, a ceremony was held at which a symbolic cheque was presented for the 26,269,320 pesos awarded in scholarships by The Oxfordian School. It was received by the students Ana Sofía Cortés González, Martín Everardo Cantú Heredia and Lumen López López on behalf of the families benefiting from this programme, which offers members of the community the opportunity of a world-class education.
The event also recognised those who best represent the Oxfordian profile, who were named students of the year: Helena Monserrat Orta López, Zoe Sarahí Bautista Torres, Melissa Álvarez Aldape, Diana Cristina Rodríguez Bermea and Luz del Sol Díaz Cruz, of Las Quintas Campus; Matías Ervey Gracia Ahumada, Ana Sofía Reta Piña, Sofía Arely Flores Garza and Victoria Fernanda Romero Sayago, of Vista Hermosa Campus; Catalina Sosa Treviño, Leonardo Alberto Salas Torres and Valeria Nicole Loredo Vega, of Petrolera Campus; Saori Lizeth Escamilla Cavazos and Isabella Nohemí Lara Sosa, of Las Fuentes Campus; and Sebastián Luna Campos and Nahomy Alejandra Lozada Peña, of Middle Years Campus.
In addition, students and staff with the longest service to the school, of more than ten years, were called forward. In this category, twenty-seven students from Las Quintas Campus and twenty-three from Vista Hermosa Campus were named.
The staff recognised for a decade of belonging to the Oxfordian family were: Ms. Loredo, Spanish coordinator in Kindergarten; Ms. Arrezola, art teacher; Ms. Cruz, Spanish teacher in secondary and high school; Mr. González, English teacher in secondary; Ms. Rodríguez, Spanish coordinator in primary; Ms. Galván, academic coordinator of Middle Years Campus; and Ms. Banda, Psychology coordinator of Vista Hermosa Campus.
Mention was also made of the refurbishment of the multi-purpose court at Las Quintas Campus, one of the projects driven by the proceeds of the Gran Kermés Mexicana 2022, along with the roofing of the play and secondary areas at Vista Hermosa Campus, the new roof over the courtyard and the expansion of green areas at Petrolera Campus, the roofing over green areas at Middle Years Campus, and the roofing for green areas at Las Fuentes Campus already under way.
The anniversary celebration was therefore a great opportunity to appreciate the results of a shared effort, with the considerable progress made on the sports facilities. Oxfordian families were thanked for their trust and for growing alongside the school, and encouraged to keep working together with the words: “Here’s to many more years.”
