National Champions, and a Trip to the Latin American Tournament
Marcelo Alejandro Sánchez Garza, of Campus Vista Hermosa, plays for Liga Treviño Kelly, which was crowned national champion in the Menor 9-10 category. The title carried with it a place representing Mexico at the Latin American tournament.
In the same league, Dylan De Luna Herrera, of Campus Vista Hermosa, and Adrián Hilario Peraza Montoya, of Campus Petrolera, took the national little league championship of the Williamsport programme. With it, Liga Treviño Kelly became back-to-back national champions in the 7-8 Moyote category, at the tournament held in Monclova, Coahuila, from 26 June to 1 August.
Baseball at this age is played early in the morning and in a great deal of heat, and mostly in front of parents. Getting to a national final takes a level of commitment that has very little to do with the trophy at the end of it.
Congratulations to all three, and to the families who drove them to every one of those games.
