First Music Recital Offered

First Music Recital Offered

The students of Music Club and of the extracurricular music class gave the first music recital at Las Quintas Campus on Friday 26 May.

Their performance was the result of months of preparation under the direction of the music teachers, Mr. Galván and Mr. Cavazos, resulting in a fine presentation enjoyed by students, staff and the parents invited.

The Music Club initiative began this school year with the intention of developing, encouraging and helping to showcase our students’ abilities in the art of music.

The programme was wide-ranging, including pieces such as Perfect by Ed Sheeran performed by Jimena Tijerina and Sofía Huerta, Green Sleeves by Lenna Palacios, a medley of Tampico hermoso and Hermoso cariño by Valentina Alpirez, and Frappe Snowland by César Guevara and René López, as well as performances by the extracurricular Ensemble and the Music Club Band.

The extracurricular Ensemble, made up of Jiaxin Li, Fabian Oliva, Jaden Mendoza, Arturo Ruiz and Gustavo Rosas, performed London Bridge, Verde verde, Ángeles cantando están, Jingle Bells and the Ode to Joy.

The Music Club Band — Andrea Cinco Ávila (vocals), Emily Morales Benítez (vocals), Manuel López Hernández (bass), José Emilio Luna Zamora (drums), Óscar Mejía Muñoz (keyboard), Danna Kamyla Castillo Lambarria (keyboard), Brianna Páez Arriaga (keyboard), Kevin Zamora González (guitar), David Dusbabek Mendoza (guitar) and Santiago Gutiérrez Pestaña (mixer) — delighted the audience with De música ligera, Take On Me, Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Sweet Child O’ Mine.

The occasion was also taken to recognise the support Mr. Díaz Senior has given to the Music Club.

It is hoped that events like these will continue as one more means of expression for our students who feel the urge to show their musical abilities.
