Vocational Development & Self-Discovery
Rather than relying on generic, short-term evaluations, vocational guidance is embedded directly within the daily home-room curriculum. These courses use structured lesson tracking and behavioural observation to help students identify their own cognitive skills and academic strengths, across four years from 9th grade to 12th.
The curriculum is designed specifically to direct students who feel uncertain about their future paths, providing personalised mentoring to help them select appropriate career concentrations and university matches.
Four Years, One Through Line
Each year asks one question and builds on the year before it, so that a decision made in 12th grade rests on four years of work rather than a single conversation.

Strategic Planning for Grades 10, 11 and 12
Navigating university admissions can be complex, but no Oxfordian walks that path alone. Planning is tailored to each student through grades 10, 11 and 12.
- Targeted content units. Counsellors guide students through the units and specialist topics that build a competitive academic profile.
- Continuous progress tracking. Each student’s plan and milestones are tracked in our student database, so nothing is left to memory.
- Family partnership. Parents are kept in the conversation throughout, with consistent follow up rather than a single meeting.
- Early introductions. Families meet the readiness journey at Academic Night, for Middle School and High School parents, and 9th graders meet it at the Oxfordian Experience.

University Visits This Year
Universities also come to us. The Universidad de Monterrey (UdeM) is visiting our 11th and 12th grade students to present their academic offer and answer questions in person, so students can weigh their options before application season begins.
We keep an active contact list of top tier universities and write to them directly on our students’ behalf. Three routes bring those universities within reach.
On campus
Admissions Teams Come to Us
We schedule university visits on the Oxfordian campus, so students meet admissions representatives face to face and ask their own questions.
Off campus
University Tours
We organise trips out to university campuses, so students see college life and academic environments for themselves before they choose.
In planning
The University Fair
We are working through the feasibility of a large university fair for the Oxfordian community, bringing several institutions together under one roof.
Dedicated Guidance & Academic Alignment
The institution has expanded this department by adding a dedicated general assistant for the College Ready programme. Leadership has also implemented a strategic transition by appointing Mrs Sandoval as a dedicated College Counsellor, ensuring students have access to professional, long-term post-secondary planning.
Advanced International Competitions
A cornerstone of the advanced college readiness track is student participation in the prestigious BEO World competition — the British English Olympics Masters: Business — in the United Kingdom. Led by high school mentors, small selected groups of 11th and 12th grade students take part in this highly independent programme.
The initiative is a real-world opportunity in a global setting: students receive advanced coaching to pitch original business models, financial plans and competitive marketing strategies entirely in English, building critical public speaking and business administration skills before they enter university.
A Network for Life
Graduating from The Oxfordian School is the beginning, not the end. Our alumni network gives the students still in High School someone to ask, someone to follow and somewhere to picture themselves.
- Scholarship and success tracking. We collect what our graduates go on to do, university scholarships included, and use it to guide the students still with us.
- Long term support platforms. We are evaluating platforms that would let us follow and support graduates well beyond their last day here.
- Active engagement. We invite former students back, so the next generation grows up around people who have already walked the path.
