We Host Sentimiento Juarista

On Thursday 27 April, The Oxfordian School Campus Las Quintas hosted the Sentimiento Juarista 2023 public-speaking competition of the Tamaulipas Ministry of Education, at the School Zone No. 11 stage for the secondary level.
Over the course of the day the winners were América de la Torre Jara of Instituto Piaget (first place), Ruth Ailet Ochoa Alfaro of Colegio Regents (second place) and Mariano Hernández López of Colegio Reynosa (third place), after competing in two rounds against seven other participants.
The winner, América de la Torre Jara, secured her place in the second round with the theme Fostering civic and ethical values in adolescents, with which she made a strong impression on the judges — the teachers Santiago Aguilera Dávila, José Bermúdez Burciaga and Rosa María Bolado Guerra — as well as on the guests of honour, Ana Julia Saldívar Sarrión, deputy technical-pedagogical head of General Secondary Schools in Tamaulipas, and Alicia Pizaña Navarro, head of the CREDE in Reynosa.
Ten students in total were selected for the competition, from nine different institutions in School Zone No. 11, with notable performances from our own students Julia Emma Flores Vega of Vista Hermosa Campus, who reached the second round with the theme Margarita Maza, a courageous example among Mexican women, and Daisy Grace Rincón Willson of Las Quintas Campus with the theme The Reform Laws and their relevance today.
The competition is organised annually by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Education, through the State Directorate of Cross-Curricular Programmes together with the General Supervision of Secondary Education for School Zone No. 11.
